Pension "Hluboký potok"

("Deep Creek" in English, "Tiefenbach" in German) is located in the community of Desná, on the boundary line of the Jizera and Krkonoše (Giant) Monuntains in the Northern part of Bohemia, 610 meters above the sea level. It is an ideal base for walking as well for biking into the heart of both mountains. You can find the most attractive places of Jizera Mountains in the distance of ten kilometers, such as the Protržená přehrada (Failured Dam), the cascades of the river Černá Desná, water dam of Souš, the beautiful mountain settling of Jizerka, or the observatory tower Štěpánka on the top of Hvězda hill.

You can reach within ten driving minutes the main center of winter sports of Jizera Mountains, the Tanvaldský špičák. On the opposite direction, you simply drive to popular city of Harrachov with its ski-jumping facilities and numerous slopes of all kinds of difficulty. In the nearby vicinity of the pension, many skiing lifts for beginners and intemediates are at your disposal. Our pension is located not far off the main road from Tanvald to Harrachov, however it is completely separated from the traffic by the small valley of Hluboký potok (Tiefenbach). The bus stop as well as the train station of the cog-wheel railway of Tanvald-Kořenov-Harrachov are in a short walking distance.

The distance from the Czech capital, Prague, makes approx. 120 kilometers of comfortable driving, using from the most part the motorway No. 10 Prague-Liberec. The road border crossing to Poland (Harrachov-Jakuszyce) is approx. 15 kilometers from the pension. On the edges of Jizera Mountains, there are several tourist crossings which allow you to become more familiar with the mountains also form the Polish side. The nearest road border crossing connecting to Germany is located in Hrádek nad Nisou (transfer through Polish territory to Zittau) and is approx. 50 kilometers away.
